Project Description - On hold due to budgetary constraints

This project replaces pipeline on Pentz Road, from Fickett Lane to Stearns Road as well as the Ficket Water Lane main from Pentz Road to Cherry Lane. About 5,650 feet of old 6-inch and 8-inch steel water main will be replaced with 12-inch C900 PVC water main.

Over 900 meters in PID’s D Zone are fed by the 16-inch Foland Road and 6-inch Pentz Road mains. If the Foland Road main is removed from service, more than 1,000 C and D Zone meters would be fed only by the 6-inch water main. PID analysis predicts a major service outage for eastern D Zone (east of Clark Road) if the Foland Road 16-inch main is out of service unless the Pentz Road main is upgraded.

PID's board considered these alternatives:

Option 1: PID crews construct the project.
Option 2: PID contracts with an outside firm specializing in this type of project.

The PID board approved Option 2 as presented in the 2017/2018 budget.

Benefits to PID and its Customers
